Land clearing, stumps and roots out

What it is

Clearing and grubbing takes a lot from overgrown to buildable. We mulch or pull the brush, dig out guava and albizia stumps with the bucket, and use the thumb to stack roots and logs where you want them. The ground is left ready for a house pad, a driveway or a garden.

When you need it

• Your building permit is coming and the pad site is still bush.
• Albizia and guava stumps keep sprouting after every cut.
• You bought a lot in Puna or Ka'u and want to see what you own.
• The clearing may pass 1 acre, where Hawaii County wants a grubbing permit. We tell you when you cross that line.

The tool that does it

The 24 inch bucket and the hydraulic thumb do the pulling and stacking, with the mulcher for the brush.
