Rental terms summary
Updated October 15, 2026.
The rate
The 306 rents for $500 per calendar day with the 12 inch and 24 inch digging buckets, the 36 inch grading bucket and the hydraulic thumb. Every day it is on rent is billed, weekends included.
Each rental day includes 8 engine hours on the hour meter. Extra hours bill at $62.50 each.
Tools
The auger is $95 a day, the hammer $225 a day and the forestry mulcher $495 a day, billed for every rental day they go out.
Damage waiver
The damage waiver is 15% of the rental and tools, or 20% when the mulcher or hammer goes out. You can skip it with a certificate of insurance that covers rented equipment, which we approve before your booking is confirmed.
The waiver covers accidental damage to the machine and tools in normal use, up to $5,000 in total for a rental. You pay for accidental damage above that. It does not cover misuse, breaking the safe-use or before-you-dig rules, theft when the machine was left unsecured, or a lost tool.
The waiver is not insurance: it does not cover injury to anyone or damage to other property. We bill it with the rental after the machine comes back, and it is not charged if you cancel before delivery.
Deposit hold
We hold $2,000 on a credit card before delivery. It is a hold, not a charge, and we release it after the machine comes back, less any damage we show you with photos.
Paperwork
You sign the rental agreement before delivery. Once we approve your request, your booking link takes you through it online: a quick ID check, the agreement, and a saved credit card for the deposit hold. Stripe runs the ID check and the card on its own secure pages.
You sign the rental agreement before delivery. Until online signing and payment arrive, we take care of the agreement with you by phone, and the deposit is paid in cash or by check.
Fuel and cleaning
The machine goes out full. If it comes back low, we charge the gallons it takes to refill at our posted fuel rate plus a $25 service fee. If it comes back needing a wash-down, cleaning is $150. We charge either one only when it is needed, with photos.
Tax
Hawaii general excise tax of 4.712% applies to the taxable total.
Delivery and pickup
Delivery is priced by drive time and miles from Keaau. Every rental day past the first takes 10% off delivery, and delivery is free at 10 days or more.
When the tow is over 2 hours each way, we usually deliver the day before your first day and pick up the day after your last. Those two days are not charged.
Cancelling
Cancel more than 72 hours before delivery and it is free. Our cancellation policy has the rest.
Before you dig
Call Hawaii One Call (811) at least 5 working days before you dig and give us the ticket number. We release the machine only with a ticket number, unless you sign that the work is exempt digging on private property.
Check-out and return
At delivery we record the hour meter and fuel and photograph the machine with you, and you sign for it. We do the same at pickup.
Look it over at delivery. If anything looks wrong or does not work, tell us before you use it. Once you start using it, you accept it as in good working order.
Your responsibility
From delivery until pickup the machine is in your care. You are responsible for how it is used, by you or anyone you let run it, and for safety on your site. You and your operators are not our employees, and we do not direct your work.
You cover BAMF Land for claims that come from that use, including injuries, damage to other property and hit underground lines, except where the harm was caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct.
Beyond delivering the machine in good working order, we make no promise that it suits your job. Our liability is limited to the rental charges you paid, and we are not liable for lost profits, delays or indirect damages.
